Many Australian tourists prefer to stay in Broadbeach, when visiting the Gold Coast, because it is away from the busiest holiday regions. The main Broadbeach CBD region has a pleasant, laid back holiday atmosphere that is very appealing, yet it still has all the attractions that make the Gold Coast such a popular holiday destination. Braodbeach is just far enough south of Surfers Paradise, and the Cavill Avenue mall. It is close enough to visit if you want to and far enough away that you are not affected by the large numbers of tourists who gather there. Additionally, Broadbeach has many restaurants and cafes in its own commercial center so there is often no reason to leave.
The beach is actually the same beach as Surfers Paradise. You are just a little further to the south. The surf is the same but again, there are no crowds. The beachfront also has a wide park along its length which is a great place for families with kids to play. The Nikon Plaza shopping center runs right down to the beach and is the center of holiday activities in Broadbeach. There are lots of alfresco cafes and diners here as well as a large shopping center. The mono rail train service has a station in Nikon Plaza and it makes getting around the Gold Coast very easy. The Pacific Plaza shopping center, which is the largest on the Gold Coast, is walking distance from the Nikon Plaza.
Jupiters casino dominates the tourist scene in Broadbeach. It is a huge accommodation hotel and resort and it is centrally located in Broadbeach, on the Gold Coast highway. Next door is the Gold Coast convention center which often attracts large numbers of people to the Broadbeach area. As far as Gold Coast accommodation is concerned, Broadbeach is like most of the other Gold Coast beachfront regions. High rise apartment resorts dominate the landscape and the beachfront resorts are the most popular. There are dozens to choose from.
