Main Beach is the best family holiday destination on the Gold Coast. It is surrounded by the huge amount of holiday infrastructure that the Gold Coast provides and is right on the best surfing beach in the country. Main Beach is situated between Surfers Paradise to the south and the Southport Spit to the north so it is walking distance to the most popular regions on the entire coastal strip. Main Beach has its own commercial center in Tedder Avenue, which has become the most up market shopping region on the coast. The streets are filled with imported sports cars, the footpaths lined with trendy cafes and restaurants and the shopping boutiques are filed with expensive clothes. It is definitely the place to be seen on the entire Gold Coast.

Along the beachfront is a large supply of Gold Coast accommodation that consists of many high rise apartment buildings and these extend back into the streets behind. When the Gold Coast V8 supercar race is on, the track runs right through the Main Beach region and the balconies of the high rise apartments become the best vantage point to watch the race and join in all the fun. There are thousands of holiday apartments within the Main Beach region and they range in standard from three to five star ratings. Within walking distance to the north is the magnificent Palazzo Versace hotel which lies on the Southport spit and it has a six star rating. A pedestrian flyover from Palazzo Versace runs across the road to the Sheraton Mirage resort which has a great beach front location. The beach is superb and regarded as one of the best surf beaches on the Gold Coast. It is the most popular section of coastline for kite surfing and on any day you will see this spectacular activity taking place here. The best vantage point to watch this activity from is the balconies of the beachfront resorts. Main Beach is walking distance to the holiday center of the Gold Coast, which is the Cavill Mall in Surfers Paradise and also to the Seaworld theme park and resort on the Southport Spit.
